Inspired by a speech from Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei, a social media campaign has been launched stating that the users “love fighting Israel,” according to a report by the Mehr News Agency. Mehr said that the Instagram account has more than 3,000 followers in just a week. It has also inspired various related hashtags on social media. Yet this week, Iran claimed they are a stabilizing force in the region’s nations troubled by terror.

Mehr highlighted one image showing a hand in the shape of a gun painted in the colors of an Iranian flag blowing away a blue Star of David – the symbol for Israel. While Mehr did not state how many Iranians were participating in the campaign, it credited Iranian leader Khamenei for sparking the idea.

Khamenei was quoted by Mehr as saying in a recent speech that “our people love fighting against the Zionists and the Islamic Republic has proved this as well.”
Meanwhile, Iranian news PressTV has reported that Iran wants the West to take “trust-building measures” to get Iran’s help in the fight on terrorism.
Addressing the fight with ISIS (ISIL), PressTV quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying Iran is at the “forefront of establishing stability and tranquility in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.”
However, Iran has long been suspected of fomenting violence and terrorism in those three countries and has openly admitted to helping terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah.
So while Iran has reportedly joined the fight against ISIS, they still have their own agenda. Like fighting Israel.
