Hamas doesn’t let age prevent it from training new terrorists in their conflict with Israel—a teenager under 18 was arrested after infiltrating Israel and following military training in explosives and other acts of violence. “Most of his training was for offensive operations including—inter alia—infiltration, entry into buildings and the detonation of explosive charges as part of a concept that the next combat would be on Israeli territory,” said a press release on the arrest from the Israel Security Agency (ISA).

The teen was involved in placing explosives in and around Hamas’ infamous tunnels as booby-traps against Israeli soldiers, and “even stored additional charges in his home.” However, the teen has since proven quite helpful to Israel. Israeli Prime Minister spokesman Ofir Gendelman cited the ISA in his Twitter feed in saying the Hamas teen terrorist “provided valuable intel about Hamas’ strategy, its terror tunnels & their locations.”

The ISA press release said that during their investigation, the Israelis uncovered “extensive information… on Hamas’s activity in digging tunnels for the infiltration of Hamas fighters into Israel. Information was also acquired on the routes of emergency tunnels for use by Hamas elite units as well as on the location of numerous tunnel shafts in the Gaza Strip.”

This included information on the tunnel-builders’ working methods and tools.

The Hamas teen terrorist was arrested in April, but was indicted in district court on Tuesday, when the investigation was cleared for publication.

“Hamas is continuing to dig tunnels even as it is aware of Israeli activity to locate them and is monitoring this activity,” said the ISA. “The minor is one of several militants currently being investigated by the ISA and who are revealing updated internal information about Hamas’s intensive tunnel digging activity.”
