Considering they are a group that has no problem radicalizing their young and turning teens into terrorists, Hamas now has a teenager problem and it’s turning into an Israeli counterterrorism solution. For the second month in a row, a Hamas terror teen from Gaza was caught infiltrating into Israel according to an IDF press release. And yet again that young militant revealed secrets about Hamas’ extensive terror tunnel program—including a disturbing reality about the tunnels entrances.
Hamas has never shown qualms about actively using civilian locations as military centers, including storing weapons in mosques and shooting from schools. Now, the latest intel from the terror teen shows that Hamas is working to link up their offensive terror tunnels that run into Israel with tunnels in Gaza that sit next to civilian hubs. “It was revealed that Hamas has built numerous tunnels intended for facilitating the movement of terror operatives underground in the Gaza Strip,” said the IDF statement. “These tunnels have multiple entrances, some of them adjacent to civilian buy generic clonazepam online structures in the Gaza Strip including mosques and schools.” A separate Israel Security Agency (ISA) press release on the same arrest noted the tunnel locations are “clearly endangering the civilian population in the Gaza Strip.”
The intel gathered from the teenage Hamas member is part of Israel’s ongoing battle against Hamas’ tunnel program, which was used to shocking effect in the last war between the sides. Using tunnels that lead into Israel, Hamas can much more easily get into the Israeli homefront to launch attacks and conduct kidnappings. And Hamas aggressive plans aren’t limited to the future.
The 17-year-old terrorist that is sharing about the tunnels was actually caught inside Israel, according to the ISA press release. But in the end, this one-man invasion turned out to be a boon for Israel once he was caught and investigated. Among the things the teen revealed included “the location of many tunnel shafts designed to serve members of elite Hamas units in infiltrating Israeli territory during clashes with Israel,” according to the ISA statement.
The next generation of terrorists is already active. Thankfully some of them are talking, too.
