Bus Bombed as Gaza Conflict Hits Tel Aviv

A bus bombing in Tel Aviv on Wednesday wounded at least 18 people, CNN reported, against the backdrop of the ongoing Gaza rocket attacks on Israel and the IDF’s Pillar of Defense operation against Gaza terrorists. Three were wounded seriously in the attack, the first bus bombing in Tel Aviv in years.

CNN reported that Hamas praised the attack, but did not claim credit. IDF spokeswoman Avital Leibovich said on her Twitter page that Hamas has in the past carried out a number of suicide bombings against Israel.

Back during the Second Intifada in the early 2000s, hundreds of Israelis were killed in bombing attacks, many of which targeted buses.

The incident comes as Gaza terrorists have now fired around 1,400 rockets at Israel, according to Leibovich. The IDF had hit more than 1,450 sites in Gaza as of Tuesday night, according to the IDF Spokeperson’s Blog.
