Around the Middle East, A Reader’s Guide – 6th Edition

The Syria crisis is still the top story in the Middle East, but it’s not all that’s going on. Here’s what you should know:

• The US is now thinking about expanding its strike in Syria. Still not intended to win the war for the rebels, but the strike looks like it would hit the regime pretty hard.

• Russia is moving more ships into the region too. So are they thinking war with the US? Not according to them.

• The US is concerned about retaliation for a Syria strike. They’re pulling personnel from Turkey and Lebanon in case of terror attacks there.

• It’s not all about Syria. Iran and the West are laying groundwork for new nuclear talks. Will it help? Europe is hopeful. I’m not.

What do you think?
